The woman, a married mother of three, was attacked while she was sleeping in her shanty in Jhalakathi district, some 200 kilometres south of Dhaka, on Saturday night, officers said on Monday.

Prison-issued toilet paper is what musician William Michael Dillon used to write down most of his songs, including "Black Robes and Lawyers," which has just been released on iTunes.
"I was arrested for murder on August 26, 1981, for a crime I didn't commit," Dillon tells his audience as he starts strumming his guitar. "I was released on November 18, 2008. Thank you to the keepers of justice."
According to Dillon, justice prevailed when he was released from prison after 27 years. He is now on the Innocence Project of Florida's list of 13 prisoners exonerated by DNA evidence.
It was Dillon's life story and not his music that moved Grammy Award winning music producer Jim Tullio to invite Dillon to his Chicago studio to record the songs he wrote in prison.Read More..

Casey Anthony Trial: Defense Team Claims Caylee Anthony Drowned in
Casey Anthony's defense team claimed today that her daughter Caylee Anthony drowned in the family's swimming pool on June 16, 2008, weeks before she was reported missing.
"How in the world can a mother wait 30 days before ever reporting her child missing, that's insane, that's bizarre..the answer is actually relatively simple. She never was missing. Caylee Anthony died on June 16, 2008 when she drowned in her family's swimming pool," said Jose Baez, Anthony's defense attorney.

It is a funny track, it’s wide, fast and sweeping and at the same time bumpy in places so you can expect that the riders that know the track well should be up there early in the weekend and it should be the usual suspects.
Certainly I expect HM Plant Honda to be up there at the front again this weekend; Shakey knows the track and has won there before so he should be challenging for the wins again.
Ryuichi Kiyonari, well what a terrible round Croft was for him and he needs to turn it around before he loses too much ground.

The Supreme Court on Monday endorsed a court order requiring California to cut its prison population by tens of thousands of inmates to improve health care for those who remain behind bars.

Again another natural disaster hit the world, this time its US who faced horrifying twister in Missouri which left at least 89 dead and left indelible scars on the the faces of the people who became the victim of this disaster.
"It is just utter devastation anywhere you look to the south and the east – businesses, apartment complexes, houses, cars, trees, schools, you name it, it is leveled, leveled," Joplin City Councilwoman Melodee Cobert-Kean told Reuters.
The death toll is expected to climb Monday as local officials conduct a door-to-door search of the damaged area.

Proving the that odds-making is truly a guessing game, 12-1 underdog Shackleford won the 2011 Preakness Stakes, and its $1 million purse, after leading for large portions of the race.
Animal Kingdom, the Kentucky Derby winner, wasn't able to sneak up on anyone this time, and his late charge came up well short.
The victory was redemption for Shackleford, who finished fourth behind Animal Kingdom after leading for much of that race.
It also meant there would be no Triple Crown try at the Belmont Stakes in three weeks.
In the Preakness, Shackleford battled for the lead from the outset. He trailed Flashpoint in the early going, then took the lead and wouldn't relinquish it despite a hard charge from Animal Kingdom.

VIDEO: Man Steals $9000 Necklace from Macy's
A pair of young jewel thieves pulled a grab-and-dash heist at the Macy's at South Park mall in Strongsville, and police are hoping surveillance video and photo will lead to their capture.
"The guy was doing most of the talking and they were at the jewelry counter asking to look at the ruby and diamond jewelry," Lt. John Janowski with the Strongsville Police said, adding the man and woman are both about 25-years-old, and that the man has "sleeve" tattoos on his right arm.
Police said the pair entered the Macy's earlier this month at about 5 p.m. They wandered in and out of the jewelry department for a full 90-minutes before the man stole the $9,000 necklace from the clerk's hands.Read Full Story..

The Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland's most active Vatnajokull glacier started to erupt in the late hours of Saturday, an English-language magazine about Iceland said on its web page.
The volcano showed clear signs of "volcanic unrest" at around 22:00 Moscow time (18:00 GMT on Saturday), with Icelandic media quoting geologist Hjorleifur Sveinbjornsson as saying the eruption was imminent. Plumes of ash and smoke were seen rising from the crater an hour later.

Man Arrested For Secretly Taping Starbucks Restroom
Police are searching for additional victims of a man who they say secretly videotaped more than 40 women and children using the restroom at a Glendora Starbucks.
25-year-old William Zafra Velasco, an unemployed student and resident of San Dimas, was arrested on May 4.
Velasco is accused of hiding a camera inside the women's restroom for two days (April 14 and 15) at a Starbucks located at 1832 E. Route 66.

Federal forecasters Thursday called for an "above-normal" hurricane season this year. They predict anywhere from 12-18 named storms to form in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
Of those named storms, six to 10 should become hurricanes, including three to six "major" hurricanes, with wind speeds above 111 mph.
Tropical storms are given a name when wind speeds reach 39 mph. They are upgraded to hurricane status when their sustained winds reach 74 mph. An average Atlantic hurricane season sees 11 named storms, including six hurricanes; two become major hurricanes.

Justice Secretary Ken Clarke forced to issue apology after saying 'date rape' was less serious than 'proper rape'
Kenneth Clarke apologised tonight after he appeared to suggest that he did not believe that some rapes were serious.
In a series of interviews this morning the Justice Secretary implied that there was distinction between 'serious, proper rapes' and others as he defended controversial proposals to halve some rapists' sentences if they made early guilty pleas.
Following the comments, Mr Clarke faced a call to resign from Labour leader Ed Miliband during a heated Prime Minister's Questions session in the Commons.
And under pressure from Downing Street, Mr Clarke was then forced to return to the TV studios to clarify his remarks and insist that he had not intended to cause offence.Read More..

As she bids adieu to her syndicated talk show, Oprah Winfrey can also kiss goodbye to her standing as the most powerful person in showbiz, according to the list-makers at Forbes magazine, who gave Lady Gaga the No. 1 spot on this year’s Celebrity 100.
The list, released Tuesday, takes into account income and influence, and the latter increasingly depends on mastery of social media, where Gaga trumps Winfrey, whose No. 2 on the Celebrity 100.
Gaga is tops because she earned $90 million in the past year, has amassed 32 million Facebook fans and 9.5 million Twitter followers. Winfrey, who has topped the list four times, including last year, earned $290 million.Read More..
