Charlie Sheen 'TODAY' Show: If He's Clean, He's Crazy (VIDEOS)
Clips from the next interview chronicling the mad descent of actor Charlie Sheen ran earlier today on the TODAY show. In his chat with NBC’s Jeff Rossen, you'll hear Charlie say he is clean and not on drugs. The actor also submitted both blood and urine drug tests to RadarOnline.com, which also came back clean. However, if this is a clean and sober man, we have some bigger problems.
As you watch Sheen in the interview, you'll see -- drugs or no drugs -- he truly isn't right in the head. At all. He look gaunt, he's wild-eyed, and he may have suffered some hair loss since we saw him last. He looks older, and frankly, he looks and acts mentally ill, which is the biggest worry, of course, if he isn't using his favored drug cocaine.Read More charlie sheen..

The history of the test includes some very interesting scores, both at the high and low end. A few years ago, former University of Texas and Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young reportedly scored a '6' on the test. At the same time, Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick scored a '50' and Washington Redskins QB Donovan McNabb got a '14' on his test.

jane russell
Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell (June 21, 1921 – February 28, 2011) was an American film actress and was one of Hollywood's leading sex symbols in the 1940s and 1950s.
Born in Bemidji, Minnesota in 1921, Russell was the eldest child and only daughter of the five children of Roy William Russell (January 5, 1890 – July 18, 1937) and Geraldine Jacobi (January 2, 1891 – December 26, 1986).[citation needed]
Her parents were both born in North Dakota. Three of her grandparents were born in Canada, while her paternal grandmother was born in Germany. Her parents married in 1917. Her father was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and her mother was a former actress with a road troupe. Her parents spent the early years of their marriage in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For her birth her mother temporarily moved back to the U.S. to ensure she was born a U.S. citizen.[original research?] Later the family moved to the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. They lived in Burbank in 1930 and her father worked as an office manager at a soap manufacturing plant.
Russell's mother arranged for her to take piano lessons. In addition to music, she was interested in drama and participated in stage productions at Van Nuys High School. Her early ambition was to be a designer of some kind, until the death of her father at forty-six, when she decided to work as a receptionist after graduation. She also modeled for photographers and, at the urging of her mother, studied drama and acting with Max Reinhardt's Theatrical Workshop and with famed Russian actress Maria Ouspenskaya.Read More jane russell..

Oscars: Backstage, NYU student already has 73 congratulatory text messages
Luke Matheny, the surprise winner who took home the prize for live action short with "God of Love" on Sunday, is a graduate student in New York University's film program. So it's safe to say he was out of his comfort zone during the star-studded event.
On the red carpet before the Oscars telecast, Matheny admitted he was "standing behind Robert Downey Jr, trying to get on TV."
And at the nominees luncheon earlier this month, the student was equally star-struck.
"When you're in a room and there's one famous person, it's very distracting," he said backstage. "But the nominees luncheon was wall-to-wall, and I kind of clicked into this other level of reality."

Kirk Douglas Steals The Show Presenting Best Supporting Actress Oscar
Hollywood veteran and icon Kirk Douglas stole the show early on in the 2011 Academy Awards broadcast. Aided by a walking cane, Douglas took the stage at the Kodak Theatre to present the award for Best Supporting Actress.
By the time he handed the Oscar to Melissa Leo, Douglas had flirted with Oscars host Anne Hathaway and managed to have the room in stitches by poking fun at Hugh Jackman and Colin Firth.
"Thank you very much," he told the applauding audience. "And I want to thank James [Franco]. Thank you. You look much better out of the cave. And I want to thank Miss Hathaway. I thank you. She's gorgeous! Wow! Where were you when I was making pictures? Jeez!" Read More..

Trent Reznor: 'I Am Truly Stunned' to Win an Oscar
Turns out the competition was a magic feather for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
While the Nine Inch Nails frontman and his British composing partner each expressed disbelief over their winning best original score Oscar for their synthy, non-orchestral soundtrack to The Social Network, Reznor revealed a surprising anecdote about his road to Oscar glory.
“[Inception] composer, Hans Zimmer, who I’ve been battling at awards shows all year, told me, ‘In a lot of ways, I hope you win because it’s helped open up the field a bit for texture of what film scores can be,’ ” Reznor told reporters backstage. “I am truly stunned by this. David [Fincher] bugged us to do it. I’m very glad we did. It’s been the best experience I’ve ever had from start to finish.”Read More..

Documentary Depicts Disenchanted Army ‘Poster Girl’
Robynn Murray is an all-American girl from upstate New York who enlisted in the Army, headed off to Iraq, ended up as a gunner on top of a Humvee; she was even photographed for the cover of Army magazine.
After she returned home, Murray fell into an abyss.
“(The Army) was a very hard way to live, but at that time we didn’t really have any choice but to adjust to it,” Murray said. “Everything that kind of happened while I was there sank in when I got home.”
She couldn’t fit in to her old life. She drank, took drugs and became suicidal.

Gaddafi secretly transfers £3bn to Mayfair-based fund as European leaders say 'brutality and intimidation will not be tolerated'
Colonel Gaddafi secretly deposited £3bn with a London-based private wealth manager, it emerged today.
As rebels began their uprising in eastern Libya last week, a Swiss intermediary working for the dictator brokered a deal to transfer the funds from the oil-rich nation.
But a similar attempt five weeks ago was rebuffed when senior staff at a separate City stockbroking firm learned of the source of the money, The Times reported.

Celtics ship Perkins to OKC
The Celtics and Thunder weren't content with just being top-tier playoff contenders, swapping starters in a surprising deadline deal Thursday.
The Celtics sent center Kendrick Perkins and reserve guard Nate Robinson to Oklahoma City in exchange for forward Jeff Green, center Nenad Krstic, a 2012 first-round draft pick and cash.
"I'm just as surprised as everyone else was," said LeBron James, whose Heat started the day tied with Boston atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Perkins recently returned from a knee injury he suffered in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Once loaded with interior size, the Celtics will have to hope Shaquille O'Neal or Jermaine O'Neal gets healthy in time for the playoffs.
The Thunder parted with Green, its third-leading scorer who frequently played out of position at power forward, and the 7-foot Krstic for the chance to get the key interior defender they had been lacking.Read More..

The list of seven wonders of the world, has always been a great amusement for all of us, as it was an insight of all the unusual and unique natural and man made structures around the world. Research has proved that infact it did, in the ancient Greek.

Cristin Milioti: Watch the '30 Rock' scene-stealer's 'Sopranos' past
The Feb. 24 episode of "30 Rock" was, for lack of a better term, a perfect storm of awesome.

Playing an up-and-coming stand-up comedian, with pigtails and a baby voice, Milioti kind of stole the episode for us -- if you ignore, for a moment, the sight of Alec Baldwin in an old sea captain's uniform. Read More..

Brazilian keratin hair treatment product linked to formaldehyde
Fashion magazines are filled with stars showing off sleek, straight hair. The frizzy look is out, stylists say.
That’s why Evelyn Martinez is fighting her naturally frizzy hair.
“I’m always straightening my hair and buying all kinds of creams to make it straight,” Martinez said.
Evelyn turned to what some call a miracle hair straightener. It goes by many names, such as “Brazilian Blowout”, “Brazilian Keratin Treatment”, or “Brazilian Hair Straightening.”
But the popular hair treatment is being tied to a harmful, potentially cancer-causing chemical. The product is still used every day, but it is now under federal investigation.
The process costs anywhere from $150 to $300, and it’s done in a salon by a stylist. It typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
After washing and drying the hair, the stylist typically separates the hair into sections with clips and a comb. Then, the keratin product is brushed into the hair. A hairdryer and flatiron are used to seal the product into the hair. It’s not unusual to see steam or smoke coming from the hair as the flatiron is used.Read More brazilian blowout..

From Angelina to Zsa Zsa, Steven Jobs to Sergey Brin, the chairman of the Fed to the CEO of Goldman Sachs, the famous and the rich share a common failing with the rest of us: they’ve misplaced some of their money.
Nationwide the pool of unclaimed property held by states is close to $33 billion and growing.
A MarketWatch review of some of the major unclaimed property sites maintained by the states revealed some surprising names and organizations that have unclaimed property.
For instance:
The state of New Jersey is holding an “unknown” amount for Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, tied to his last known address there. In addition a “Ben S. Bernanke, Stanford” is owed $72 reported to California by American Express Company. Bernanke taught at Stanford in the 1980s and at Princeton in the 1990s.Read More..

'American Idol' Reveals First Batch Of Top 24
In its 10th season, "American Idol" has already gone coast-to-coast (and, uh, Milwaukee), in search of the next pop superstar. So when it came time to whittle their list of hopefuls down to the top 24, a few additional miles probably weren't going to hurt anyone.
On Wednesday night's (February 23) show, "Idol" trekked from Hollywood to Las Vegas — where the 61 remaining contestants were hacked down to just 40 — and then back to the show's hometown of Los Angeles, where, at long last, the voyage came to a close with the unveiling of the 24 singers who will compete for this season's crown ... or, at least, that's what we were told.

Jessica Hahn and Barbara Walters mix it up on 'The View'
Jessica Hahn appeared on "The View" on Tuesday for their week-long "Where Are They Now?" segment and the guest was briefly scolded by Barbara Walters when she tried to compare her scandal with a moment from Walter's life.
Hahn is known for her sex scandal with televangelist Jim Bakker during the 1980s. Hahn claims she was raped during the encounter in 1980, while Bakker claimed it was consensual. Bakker resigned from his position as head of the PTL organization in 1987 after it was revealed that he was paying Hahn money to keep quiet about the encounter.
Co-host Sherri Shepherd tried to bring up Hahn's scandal by saying "your affair," which Hahn attempted to correct by saying, "Now, let me get this straight. This wasn't an affair."

PM: 'This may be New Zealand's darkest day' as quake kills 65
A powerful earthquake ripped through Christchurch, New Zealand, on Tuesday afternoon, killing at least 65 people as it toppled buildings, buckled roads and damaged cathedrals.
"This is just heartbreaking," said New Zealand Prime Minister John Key during a trip to the area to survey the damage from the 6.3-magnitude quake. "This may be New Zealand's darkest day."
Frantic rescuers scrambled to reach those trapped in the rubble hours after the earthquake struck. Scores of dazed, bleeding residents wandered streets strewn with debris and chunks of concrete.
A woman atop a pile of rubble tearfully pleaded the crowd to help her.
"They are coming for you," a bystander said.
The quake, which struck during the city's lunchtime rush, was followed by a series of aftershocks.
Key said the priority was to rescue people trapped in buildings. The number of injuries was unclear, but the final death toll may be much higher, according to authorities.
Police, military and rescue crews had been dispatched from all over the country to help, the prime minister said. Read More...

Nuggets trade Carmelo Anthony to Knicks in big deal
After answering the media's questions, Carmelo Anthony exited the illuminated room into the gray and drab snaking hallways beneath Energy Solutions Arena, from where he escaped the nightmare.
The Nuggets had just lost at Utah last spring, their sixth first-round playoff-series loss in Anthony's seven seasons. The team was in disarray. The coach was home in Denver, battling cancer. Guard J.R. Smith was pouting like a toddler. Three key big men were losing their battle with injuries. Two key front-office executives had expiring contracts.
"It wasn't the fact that we lost — but how we lost, how we conducted ourselves," Anthony said recently. "For me, I don't think it was classy the way we went out. I don't think we went out with a fight."Read More..

Why the Wolves are part of the deal
The Wolves' part in this Melodrama: They trade Corey Brewer to New York for third-year forward Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry's expiring $11.2 million contract and $3 million cash from the Knicks.
The fine print: Curry is persona non grata for the Wolves. Expect him to be waived quickly at no cost after they get the Knicks' cash and swap Brewer's contract for Randolph's. The Wolves' presence, though, was crucial to the deal because by absorbing Curry's contract it saves Denver millions in luxury-tax penalties.
Why acquire Randolph, the 14th overall pick in the 2008 draft? The Wolves have been interested since he was with Golden State last June, perhaps envisioning him as a Lamar Odom type in Kurt Rambis' system. He's 6-10-plus in his sneakers, has a 7-foot-3 wingspan, can play both forward spots and some center. He fits the Wolves' mold: Great skills, freakish athleticism and young (doesn't turn 22 until July), but there are questions about his motor, defense and strength. Like Michael Beasley and Darko Milicic, he's left-handed.Read More..

Notes, quotes from 53rd Daytona 500
In a sport rich with tradition, Sunday's story line would be the equivalent of a kindergarten kid stealing lunch money from the senior high school quarterback who dates the hot-looking cheerleader. Big props to anybody who had Trevor Bayne in their Daytona 500 winner's pool. Bayne, 20, fought off a charge from veteran Carl Edwards in the last lap -- while feeling heat from Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch minutes earlier -- to become one of the most improbable winners in the 53-year history of the Great American Race. Youngest, too. The kid can't even drink a beer in Florida to celebrate. He just turned 20 on Saturday. "I don't even know where to go," Bayne said, as he tried to find victory lane...Read More..

2011 Daytona 500: Trevor Bayne, 20, gives Wood Brothers Racing a long-awaited victory
A day after celebrating his 20th birthday, Trevor Bayne delivered a special present to one of NASCAR's oldest teams.
Bayne, making only his second Sprint Cup start and ineligible to earn points on stock-car racing's top circuit, became the youngest winner in Daytona 500 history Sunday, holding off a hard-charging Carl Edwards to cap a wild race that set records for lead changes and cautions and ended in NASCAR's version of double overtime.
"If I tried to put it into words, I wouldn't be doing it any justice," the fresh-faced rookie said, grinning from ear to ear. "They gave me a rocket ship that definitely did me a lot of justice today. Anybody I hooked up with, it was headed to the front. To get this win . . . in our second-ever race, that's setting the standard." .Read More..

Baddeley Holds Off Singh at Riviera, Where Generation Gap Is 2 Shots
After four years of searching, and 95 tournaments without a victory, Aaron Baddeley finally put it all together again on Sunday. On a chilly, bright day at Riviera Country Club, Baddeley won the Northern Trust Open with a rebuilt swing and some newfound resolve.
After starting the day with a one-stroke lead, Baddeley trailed just once — after Fred Couples birdied the first three holes to reach 12 under par. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Daytona 500 - Race Results
Trevor Bayne finally made a mistake. Fortunately for him, it didn’t happen until he missed the turn pulling into Victory Lane at the Daytona 500.
The youngest driver to win the Great American Race gave the historic Wood Brothers team its fifth Daytona 500 victory — its first since 1976 with David Pearson — and Bayne did it in a No. 21 Ford that was retrofitted to resemble Pearson’s famed ride.
In just his second Sprint Cup start, the 20-year-old Bayne stunned NASCAR’s biggest names with a thrilling overtime win Sunday at Daytona International Speedway, holding off Carl Edwards after fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. crashed in NASCAR’s first attempt at a green-white-checkered flag finish.

Wood Brothers Racing Gets 'Biggest Win' In Long History
Sunday's Daytona 500 was an incredible blend of old and new. Rookie Trevor Bayne somehow stole the show with an amazing and unexpected run, and he did so while driving for Wood Brothers Racing.
Wood Brothers Racing is one of NASCAR's oldest and most legendary teams, but the family-run team has fallen on hard times in recent years. Very hard times, in fact.
With dwindling sponsorship and a lack of recent success, the Wood Brothers cut back to a partial schedule in 2009. The team seemed like it was on life support as of late, with little hope for the future.
But everything seems to have turned around in just one race.Read More wood brothers racing..
CUP: Bayne Making Leaps In Record Time
Around noon Saturday, as teams made final preparations in the Daytona International Speedway garage area for Sunday’s Daytona 500, Eddie Wood, co-owner of the Wood Brothers Racing team, answered a call on his cell phone.
He moved between two transporters in the noisy garage area to hear better. The call was from a long-time friend of Wood, retired Ford Racing director Dan Rivard.
Rivard wanted to talk about Trevor Bayne, the Woods’ new driver. Rivard said he had been watching on television and wanted Wood to know how impressed he was with Bayne’s driving. Wood said Rivard had compared Bayne favorably with former Ford racing icon Jackie Stewart, an international motorsports superstar.

In Surprise Ending, Trevor Bayne Captures Daytona 500
With a record number of lead changes, leaders and cautions from wrecks that took out some of the biggest names in Nascar, it was only appropriate that the most unpredictable Daytona 500 in history ended with the most unexpected driver celebrating in victory lane.
Trevor Bayne, a part-time driver in the No. 21 Ford in his second career Sprint Cup race and first Daytona 500, received a push from Bobby Labonte and outgunned what was left of the field on an overtime restart to hold off Carl Edwards on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway.Read More trevor bayne..
Daytona 500 Victory Lane Recap - The Trevor Bayne Edition
This was the decided-upon word used by treywilson3 should Trevor Bayne manage to somehow win the Daytona 500.
The word has it's roots in a Will Farrell SNL skit used to describe utter perfection that, ironically, is too perfect to describe. The idea here at Ranting and Raving was that no other word could possibly describe how awesome it would be should Bayne hold on to win at Daytona.
As it turns out, Bayne was nearly perfect and held off a late charge from Carl Edwards and David Gilliand to win the Daytona 500 on Sunday afternoon.
Roush-Fenway's David Ragan was the leader at the first Overdrive and was black flagged for changing lanes before passing the start/finish line. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Martin Truex Jr. immediately brought out the caution and Ragan suffered a pass-through penalty.Read More trevor bayne..

Eli Tahari: Fashioning success
Elie Tahari: Fashioning success
NEW YORK - In the white-hot glare of the fashion world, the clothes take center stage. But the names on the labels can, of course, become famous in their own right: witness Diane von Furstenberg . . . Donna Karan . . . Elie Tahari.
The Tahari name is famous: the face behind it, not so much.
Of the millions who have Elie Tahari hanging in their closets, few probably know that Elie . . . is a HE.
"I was coming down the elevator with somebody that I noticed she bought of Elie Tahari clothes, and I said, 'I see you bought some Elie Tahari.' She said, 'Oh, I love her designs,'" Elie Tahari recalled. "Her design! 'I'm her,' I should have said, yes!" Read More..

What do $15 worth of sausage, a first-aid kit and a pack of napkins have in common?
Those are the items a naked man who broke into a Southwest Florida club house determined were worth stealing.

Police: Millions of dollars in hot jewelry leads to murder
At the heart of the LAPD double-homicide investigation featured in this week's "48 Hours Mystery: Playing with Fire" are nearly $1 million worth of jewelry ripped-off when the federal government seized the assets of Wall Street Ponzi-schemer Mark Yagalla.
Police believe that Yagalla's girlfriend, Playboy model Sandy Bentley, and her next boyfriend, nightclub doorman Michael Tardio, ripped off the jewels and planned to sell them for cash on the black market.
Tardio had no experience as a criminal and this foray into the Los Angeles underworld resulted in his murder and the murder of his best friend, Chris Monson.
The two were presumably executed when they went to sell the jewels by the person(s) who they mistakenly thought were going to pay them $1 million. Their bodies were dumped in an upscale North Hollywood neighborhood inside the burning, rented Mercedes SUV they drove that night.Read More mark yagalla..

2011 NBA Dunk Contest: Awkward Commentary And Bad Shoes
If the botched dunk attempts were a little awkward to witness, seeing all participants try repeatedly to finish their jams to a silent and listless crowd waiting for amazing to happen, some of the commentary by NBA legends caught on camera during the contest made the event a little more strange.
Darryl Dawkins, dunk coach for DeMar DeRozan, when interviewed by Cheryl Miller about what tricks he had up his sleeve, responded “We’re going to rattle some people’s balls.” Miller laughed and so did Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, and Dwight Howard. It was hard to hear what came after that, but Dawkins quickly ended the conversation by saying “We’re not going to go there. We’re not going there.” His green snake-skin suit was intense, Carl Sager style.Read More peak shoes..

Blake Griffin's legend gets a big boost
The legend of Blake Griffin has just gone turbo.
Did you see him? The human hood ornament? The windshield swiper? The man who literally gave car a jump?
On Saturday night in front of a Staples Center crowd that howled in disbelief, the Clippers rookie who spent the first half of this season dunking on mere men put it in the face of a machine.
Yep, the dude dunked over a car.
Taking a pass from teammate Baron Davis through the sunroof of a silver 2011 Kia Optima, Griffin soared over the hood to slam the ball in the basket before landing back on that hood with his arms raised in triumph.
Yep, the dude won the NBA's 26th Slam Dunk Contest with arguably the best finish ever.

It's a case that has frustrated police in Hollywood for nearly 8 ý years. Which is why this week, "48 Hours" brings you a very different mystery. There's no trial to see, not even an arrest. But Det. Radiohead: The King Of Limbs, review
The King Of Limbs, the new Radiohead album now available to download, takes us on a sonic adventure that is both weird and accessible.
Snapped up by the faithful with no idea what the band had in store, Radiohead’s 8th album may, in fact, be their most immediately accessible.
It is reliably unorthodox, a new sonic adventure for the restless Oxford quintet, but, despite its boldness and weirdness, it is easy on the ear, with a mellifluous melodiousness and gentle sonic palette that doesn’t demand huge leaps of faith. Percussive, groovy, spacious, ethereal and melodic, this is late night Radiohead, a stoned, somnambulistic wander through the urban wastelands shared by such post-Dubstep adventurers as Burial and James Blake. Taking the tender intimacy of Radiohead classics like No Surprises and Fake Plastic Trees and cross fertilising them with elements of world music, jazz and ambient, the result is the kind of chill out music that keeps you awake. Highly strung and instinctively contrary, but also deeply harmonically musical, Radiohead somehow finds a space between the sinister and the beautiful, the tense and the meditative. They remain masters of musical dichotomy. Read More..

JaVale McGee falls to Blake Griffin in 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest
Classic NBA Slam Dunk Contest shenanigans there. JaVale McGee does the two most creative dunks of the competition and loses to Blake Griffin because of a choir, a glitzy car and a guy stealing his thunder (pun intended).
McGee blew out of the gate on his first two dunks, completing the one you see there for a 50, then topping it by somehow slamming three balls in a dunk that was odd-looking, but incredibly difficult and creative. Griffin probably got gifted into the finals, doing a decent 360 two-hander, then flubbing a windmill off the side glass until the very end.

Tim Richmond: Daytona 500 Eve Memories of a Legend
Tim Richmond liked to go fast. His intense and fearless speed on the track was only matched by the lifestyle he lived off of the track.
His hard charging lifestyle stripped him of his career, and eventually his life, just before he achieved the amount of success that would deeply ingrain him into the psyche of the American public.
However, thanks to the power of ESPN and their 30 for 30 series, his captivating story flies into relevance on the eve of the Daytona 500.
His life is literally the stuff that movies are made of. Cole Trickle of Days of Thunder was loosely based on Richmond.
